Dundonald Castle and Visitor Centre的点评
点评：What a fantastic day I had with some business colleagues from Ayrshire Business Women at Dundonald Castle & Visitor Centre!
Actually one of the most wholesome and fun days I've had in a long time!
We started the day with a medieval apothecary lesson by Miss Liz, where we learned how to make an anti-inflammatory salve paste to sooth King Robert's arthritic joints. I'm not sure I'll try this one at home 😅
Then we had a fabulous tour of the castle by Allan, learning about the history and quirks of this beautiful place. The secrets it holds!!! 👻
Then Gillian introduced us to 3 of her precious owls, and we had the privilege to fly one of them on the glove, and to hold them. What an incredible experience 🦉
As if the day couldn't get any better - we then had sword fighting lessons....🗡⚔️🤺 I mean... when in a medieval castle... what else?
We finished the day with a delicious round of tea and cakes. 🍰
I am embarrassed that I've lived in Ayrshire nearly my whole life, but never been here before 🤦♀️... and who would have known this little gem of a place has so much to offer the local community (our activities are just a fraction of what they do). I mean, apothecary lessons, owl flying, sword fighting...in Ayrshire 😅
One of the most random Thursdays I think I've ever had, but one of the most unforgettable.
And - it's all run by the Friends of Dundonald Castle SCIO charity, and it's 70 volunteers. Amazing ❤️ Absolutely worth a visit if you've never been!

接着，吉莉安向我们介绍了她收养的三只珍贵的猫头鹰。我们很幸运能够戴着手套放飞其中一只，还能亲手抱抱它们。真是一次不可思议的体验啊🦉
这一天简直好到不能再好了——随后我们还上了剑术课……🗡⚔️🤺 话说……身处一座中世纪城堡中……还能做什么呢？
最后，我们以一顿美味的茶点作为这一天的完美收尾。🍰
说来惭愧，我几乎一辈子都住在艾尔郡，却从来没来过这里🤦♀️……谁能想到这个不起眼的小地方竟能为当地社区提供这么多活动呢（我们组织的活动只是他们所做事情的冰山一角罢了）。比如说：药剂师课程、猫头鹰放飞体验、剑术训练……这一切都在艾尔郡发生呢😅
这是我经历过最出人意料的周四之一，但也是最难忘的一天。
而且，这一切都是由“邓多纳尔城堡之友”慈善机构负责运作的。一共有70名志愿者。太棒了❤️ 如果你还没去过，绝对值得一去！
