Gauntlet Birds Of Prey的点评
点评：Gauntlet is in the top flight of birds of prey centres in the UK. Family run with a big vision and impact on conservation.
The centre is reasonably priced, making it a great day out for families or solo visitors. The staff are passionate about the birds and actively involved in conservation projects, supporting work in Africa as well as the UK.
All of the birds are maintained in top condition, something that sadly isn’t always the case at similar centres.
As well as the aviaries (and other animals such as meerkats, ferrets and goats), the centre run a range of displays throughout the day. These include superb flying displays, knowledge about the various birds and raising the importance of vultures in preventing disease that can pass through the ecosystem. All of the speakers and handlers are great communicators, making the transfer of knowledge both informative and fun.
The 3pm show is the main finale, a build up of different species, culminating in a flying display of in excess of 30 / 40 birds all in the sky at once.
The centre also has a child play area and small cafe.
I have also attended their keeper for the day and several photography sessions, really well run, informative and packed with experiences. Gauntlet birds of prey is highly recommended, I think nothing about driving 2+ hours to visit, time and time again !
