A lovely place but there is a problem

点评：A beautiful Tudor house and still the home of the Petre family. Grounds are superbly landscaped and though not a show garden it is a stunning, relaxing space. We had a guided tour of the house which was really excellent. The grounds were a delight to walk around.
The only disappointment is that the cafe which seemed to be run by quite a number of - let me guess - college students who seemed to think that they are there to huddle together as a self entertaining group but not pay too much attention to their customers. I had to go over and ask to place an order. - similarly I had to go over and ask for the bill - which by the way they got wrong. The service is perhaps the slowest I have ever experienced. No one with experience of catering seems to be in charge.
The prices are also a bit on the steep side but it is the amateurish way the cafe is being managed is my biggest niggle.
