Beautiful Gardens — We Wished for More Time to Explore
海格罗夫楼宾馆的点评
点评：Highgrove Gardens are beautiful, even visiting at the end of August, and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing them. The gardens are wonderfully varied, with so much detail and so many interesting planting ideas that we could easily have spent much longer exploring.
Our guided tour was very good, but as enthusiastic gardening hobbyists, we found ourselves wishing for more time to linger in the individual garden areas and look more closely at the plants that particularly interested us. We also would have enjoyed hearing more about the plants themselves, the garden design, and the horticultural practices used at Highgrove.
Understandably, a significant part of the tour focuses on the royal connections and King Charles’s involvement in the development of the gardens. We appreciate that this is part of what makes Highgrove unique and is undoubtedly a major attraction for many visitors. For us, however, the gardens themselves were the real attraction, and we would have happily traded some of the royal background for more horticultural detail and a slightly less structured pace.
That said, Highgrove is a beautiful and very special garden, and we are extremely glad we visited. For serious gardeners in particular, it is well worth seeing — just be prepared to leave wishing you’d had a little more time to stop and study everything.
