点评：What sounded like a great value holiday in a beautiful Island Resort, only a short flight away from Australia, turned out to be a disappointing experience. The food was appalling, and there were not many food options for Celiacs; everything was 'cheap', including drink mixers. For a tropical Island not to serve fresh limes in cocktails or drinks when you could purchase a huge bag nearby at the local markets for $3 was unbelievable. I ended up buying some and giving them to the bar staff, who were very grateful. BTW the highlight of my Iririki Island Resort stay was the staff who were very helpful and friendly. I got the feeling that working under their Manager was not an easy task.
I could share many more experiences, but to me, it was the tightness of the owners and management that really stood out. With an abundance of fresh local produce, I was especially surprised that papayas and pineapples weren't available at breakfast every morning...and it was the perfect season for harvest!
In future, I will perform my due diligence by researching and reading reviews first. And if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!
