点评:This a is small independent museum and does not benefit from the large amounts of funding provided to the national museums in Oslo, so please do not expect lots of interactives, touch screens, projections etc rather instead it has a lot of authentic charm. The museum houses various trams and trolleybuses that served the streets of Oslo through the years, which are tightly packed back-to-back together with other objects and equipment such as signals and signage all in an old depot brick building.
It's easy to walk round between the vehicles, many of which are open to walk through and 'sit in', which is great for immersion and the children seemed to love doing so. Information boards are located at the front and give information about the trams service in both written Norwegian and English. There is no audio guide to take round. There was however a small little children's trail that could be taken round, which was free. I spent about just over an hour having a wonder round taking pictures and reading, although enthusiasts could spend twice as long here.
Kudos to the older gentlemen welcoming people in, he used to work on the tram network himself and is now retired and clearly is very passionate, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the museum. His command of English was excellent too. The entrance is done up as a small ticket house, which also houses the shop, filled with lots of old stock, vintage signs, and posters of the transport network too. Felt like a little treasure trove. Considering this is one of the cheaper places to visit in Oslo (only 50 NOK), it was definitely worth it.
