点评:I live near Northumberlandia so go there three or four times a week, mainly to watch birds. The best birding is at Shotton Pools which you access through Northumberlandia.
At the moment parking is voluntary (suggestion of £3). But who carries cash these days! Rumour has it that the owners, Northumberland Wildlife Trust, will start charging soon. I hope they have a season ticket because I certainly couldn't afford £600 per annum. As I'm a member of NWT, I ought really to get some sort of discount.
Anyway, Northumberlandia itself is a pleasant walk. You can climb up the 'head' of the Lady of the North - as she is called - and get a stonking view for miles in all directions. There are three ponds which add interest; and also a sea of hawthorn and gorse to the north which provides cover for many birds.
To walk round the whole of Northumberlandia takes around 20 minutes, on flat, well-maintained paths. There are sign posts that explain something of the history of the area.
