Bunratty Castle Medieval Banquet的点评
点评：We did the Bunratty Castle Medieval Banquet after seeing the castle and the folk park which shuts just before the first sitting of the banquet. It's impressive how the turn the place around for the banquet just after the last guest has left. The banquet is lively entertainment and the performers create a rich immersive 15th-century atmosphere.
The cast are highly talented traditional musicians, harpists, and singers who weave historical storytelling into a dynamic, interactive show. We loved being in the authentic backdrop of the castle. The evening kicked off with a goblet of mead in the reception hall before moving upstairs into the Great Hall, they seat you by 'clan' i.e. the coach parties first. The multi-course meal is vegetable soup, BBQ ribs, and roast chicken and vegetables exceeded expectations and the pitchers of wine flowed so freely I wished I wasn't driving.
You sit shoulder-to-shoulder on long wooden benches with strangers and the banquet stays true to history by providing no forks or spoons so you eat with your hands and a dagger and drink your soup directly from the bowl. There's some theatrical fun with the guests, two are picked to sit at the head of the table and any naughty guests get put in the dungeon.
