点评:We spent a peaceful and relaxing hour exploring the Beethoven museum. I didn't know much about Beethoven before coming here - only that he was one of the world's greatest composers.
There are 6 rooms to explore and a courtyard where you arrive into. The garden is currently closed. An hour here is plenty, and I recommend starting your day here before it gets busy.
It's amazing to be in the same rooms that Beethoven once stayed in. To see his piano, sheets of music, and personal effects is very moving. There's so much to explore - even his death mask and a lock of hair are on display.
The museum is quite far from the city centre but you can get the metro to Heiligenstadt station and then it's a 15 minute walk to the museum. The area around the museum is tranquil where you feel like you're in a remote village.
It's actually a good thing to be away from the centre for a little bit. The museum wasn't crowded and if you arrive in the morning, you can take some really nice photos.
Luckily we visited the museum on the first Sunday of February which meant we could enter for free. Most museums are free on the first Sunday of every month in Vienna so it's worth organising your trip around this time.
It's worth making time to visit the museum, it gives you some time to reflect.
