点评:We visited the Siracusa Cathedral (Duomo di Siracusa) during our stay in Siracusa in late April and early May 2026 on the fourth leg of a five week visit to Sicily. The Duomo is situated in the centre of historic Ortigia and has apparently existed on that site in one form or another for about 2500 years, beginning as a Greek temple and being rebuilt in the 7th century as a cathedral; the current. structure was rebuilt in the 18th century following a devastating earthquake. Both its exterior and interior reflect the melange of styles from its various incarnations. While this is not the most impressive Duomo that we visited in Sicily, (in our opinion that distinction probably belongs to the Duomo in Monreale) the Duomo di Siracusa is by far the oldest and we appreciated the opportunity to visit.
