A fascinating family history brought to life by a wonderful guide

点评：Our first return visit to Tissington in around 15 years was a great success. We really enjoyed our guided tour, conducted by the very knowledgable & dedicated guide, Paul. Although we were the only 2 people on the last tour of the day (2.30 - 3.30pm), he provided us with a brilliant insight into the life and history of the Fitzherbert family through the ages, even managing to include some fascinating facts about the family's relationship with King George III, Boris Johnson and Mount St Helens, the scene of a famous volcanic explosion in 1980. A highly recommended visit, topped off with a walk around the pleasant gardens.
Although there is no cafe on site, refreshments are available a short walk down the main road outside the hall. Be aware that the hall is only open on certain dates trhough the main tourist season, so check the website in advance.
