What a difference a year makes! Completely filthy in 2025

点评：Like many places, York appears to have cut back on 2025. I attended the Ebor festival on the final day, Saturday 23rd August. No live music and the older part of the Grandstand covered stand was completely filthy and disgusting - caked in a layer of black sticky filth throughout . Is it too much to pressure wash it with disinfectant
Worse was to come with the behaviour of race goers . I’ve read bad press this year for race goers at York racecourse and also that the Saturday attracts a different race goer than in the week . People were just dropping their glasses where they were after finishing their drinks so after a couple of hours the place was strewn with discarded plastic glasses .
York - get your act together and clean the facilities so they are pristine before each race day. Provide ample bins for people to discard used glasses and empty them regularly . And introduce a code of conduct - people deliberately littering are not welcome and should leave .
Appalled at the change ; won’t be visiting again on the last day of the Ebor festival .
