点评:This was a lovely museum to visit. You learn a lot about the history of Speightstown and the lives of local business owners, including a shoemaker, fruit seller, and other members of the community.
At the time of my visit, I was the only person there, and it took me about an hour to explore everything. The museum is spread across three floors: the ground floor focuses on local business owners and daily life; the first floor covers the history of the building and Speightstown, with a separate room dedicated to slavery and emancipation; and the second floor explores shipping, trade, and the island’s ports.
The museum is quite interactive, with recorded interviews you can listen to through small speakers, as well as a short presentation about the island. I think it’s great for both kids and adults.
Entry costs BDS 35 for foreigners.
