Sadly not the family friendly festival we had hoped for!
CarFest at Silverstone的点评
点评：Disappointing, let down and not family-friendly.
We were really looking forward to CarFest as this was our first festival with our 1 year old. We had previously attended Laverstoke and loved it, which was a big reason we chose to return with our daughter.
Unfortunately, this year was a very different experience. We paid £473.70 for tickets and parking and felt the festival was poorly organised and the not family-friendly festival that it seemed to promote. This was meant to be the highlight of our year.
The distance between the campsite and festival site was incredibly impractical with a young family with a pushchair, changing bag and chairs. It was over uneven gravel and alongside vehicles. At some points it was poorly lit, water logged and dangerous. If you’re thinking of going to the 2027 festival, check the walking distance from the camping area to the main event!
The biggest issue came when our daughter was suddenly very sick on Saturday night. We asked five different members of staff for help getting back to the campsite, but received conflicting answers regarding the shuttle bus system. You could tell that the staff members were frustrated and confused with the lack of information they had. We were ultimately left to walk around 40 minutes back to the campsite along the waterlogged gravel path, covered in sick and with a very upset 1 year old!
There were no baby-changing facilities on the campsite, or at least that we found after 3 days….
The Kids Zone was very difficult to access. After the long walk to the main site (and paying £20 for a programme) we discovered that the kids zone was another long walk away. Several stages were also difficult to see and hear meaning we missed acts we had specifically planned to watch. It was such a waste of our time and money.
There were some positives — the Tiny Tots staff member was absolutely amazing and incredibly helpful — but overall, the organisation, facilities and lack of support from Silverstone and CarFest left us feeling very disappointed.
We spent a lot of money and had saved for this trip because we wanted to give our daughter a special first festival experience. Sadly, instead of happy memories, we came away feeling let down and out of pocket.
