However, I noticed several copies of a book on one display shelf listing dining venues in every state that serve high quality food. A ribbon marked the page on which the French Broad Chocolate Company appeared. The book's introduction was written by Alice Waters, the owner of Chez Panisse, a famous restaurant in Berkeley, CA. Having eaten at this establishment back when Ms. Waters started it, I knew that she conferred her blessing only on businesses that offer the best dining experiences.
We'll certainly stop in again if we return to Asheville, but meanwhile my friend has coaxed me to whip up a reasonable facsimile of the French Broad Chocolate Factory's mousse. The owners need not fear any competition from me.
