If you love history, culture, and want to experience authentic Mauritian hospitality, this place delivers 100%.As a Mauritian, I have discovered new things and acquire knowledge about our own culture that is slightly being lost.
This concept is keeping this beautiful treasure alive. Owned by a local family, the house has such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I truly felt as if I had stepped back in time. We have received a homemade tea infusion at the arrival.
The best part of this journey for me was learning about medicinal plants and their benefits, knowledge I was completely unaware of before. The guides were passionate and made the experience both educational and engaging. And as a food lover, I was just so happy about the food tasting.
There is also a charming small shop where you can acquire authentic hidden treasures and local products to take home and I absolutely fell in love with the silk products and the jewelries 😍. I also got the chance to use an ancient kitchen equipment called "Taanja".
Thank you to the Heritage Spice House family for such a beautiful and memorable journey. I have attached some pictures from my amazing visit here. Will visit again with my family and for the cooking class 💯
