A wonderful welcoming community theatre, highly recommended!

点评：We are relatively new visitors to this small community theatre in Cumbria, but have found it to be full of the friendliest people, all volunteers. There's a real pride in what can be achieved with goodwill and dedication. The performance we watched was one of seven sold out shows of the annual panto in the February half term, this time of year cleverly chosen to not clash with the bulk of panto performances. Jill and the Beanstalk, an original and therefore world exclusive script, was packed with comedy moments, great lighting, costumes, stage sets, sound, special effects, and of course made extra special by the large cast of both adults and children. The theatre hosts a monthly open mic event, free to watch and take part in, and hosts singers, touring theatre groups, and puts on a good number of in house productions throughout the year. They have very reasonable ticket prices, a well stocked small bar, happily take cash (very important), and welcome and really appreciate new faces. You can volunteer as front of house, or train as a chaperone to allow the members of their two youth groups chance to perform. Highly recommended.
