A good beach walk

点评：So we booked a hike just to see the seals of the bay. We have done many wildlife hikes of this kind before and we realise that the animals will not necessarily be close. However we were unprepared as to how far away the seals would be. They were miles away!! We have good binoculars but not nearly good enough. Even through the guide's telescope you could barely see them! I got the impression that this was as close as they usually got.
Time was spent having a good walk along the shingle beach with our very enthusiastic guide talking about the ecology and geology of the area and with information about seals from a picture book. We accepted that the tour would be all in French but is not anticipate so much talking!
We could have done a beach walk by ourselves as were many others there.
We were also told to wear water shoes and shorts as we would be getting our feet wet, but we never left the shingle and most people including the guide was only wearing hiking boots.
Photos in the brochure indicate you will likely get a good view of the famous seals but not so. Many better places in the UK to see them in the wild.
