From the very beginning, Gary's communication was outstanding. Before our tour, he was responsive, helpful, and easy to communicate with, making us feel completely comfortable about our plans. For cruise passengers especially, having a guide who communicates clearly and reliably is incredibly important, and Gary made the entire process easy and stress-free.
Gary picked us up at the cruise port and, from the very beginning, the day was exceptional. During the approximately hour-long drive to the Wallace Monument, Gary shared an incredible amount of information about Scotland, its history, and the places we were traveling through. His knowledge and passion immediately made us realize that we were in for something very special.
From the Wallace Monument, we continued to Stirling Castle, where we spent considerable time exploring the castle and grounds. Gary's knowledge of Stirling Castle was simply mind-blowing. He didn't just tell us what we were looking at—he brought the history to life with stories, details, and insights that we never would have experienced on our own.
We also had the privilege of visiting the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Museum. This was particularly meaningful because Gary is ex-military and the Argylls are his former regiment, whose home is at Stirling Castle. His personal connection and knowledge gave us a perspective that made this visit incredibly special.
We truly received the royal treatment! We were even fortunate enough to enjoy a very special lunch experience that isn't available to the typical tourist. It was an unexpected privilege and one of the many things that made our day with Gary so unique.
After thoroughly exploring Stirling Castle and its grounds, we continued on to The Kelpies, another spectacular Scottish landmark. From there, Gary took us into Edinburgh, where he dropped us off so we could enjoy some shopping and dinner before attending the Edinburgh Military Tattoo that evening.
The entire day was perfectly paced, and having a private tour meant we could spend our time where we wanted and truly enjoy each experience without feeling rushed. But what really sets Gary apart is Gary himself. His extensive knowledge, military background, personal connections, stories, humor, and genuine passion for Scotland made this so much more than a sightseeing tour.
