点评:Wow! What a wonderful evening. Beautiful , well laid out premises, looks really classy.
It started with Ben, the owner of the Cirencester Distilling Company talking through his journey and experience of making gin.
He then introduced us to the concept of making our own gin, I never realised what small quantities were involved, we are talking sometimes only 0.1 g (delicate weighing scales supplied!). I made my concoction, under the carful supervision of Ben and added and recorded my ingredients (you record them, so if you like your gin, they can make some more for you at a later stage). The process took its time as the vodka and botanicals heated up to 80deg and then slowly distilled drop by drop into a glass vessel.
Whilst all of this is happening, you are given samples of their award winning gins to try and gin and tonics were offered, to keep us lubricated throughout the process.
Ben measured the alcoholic volume and calculated how much water to add. A generous swirl of the bottle and I had made my own well rounded tasting gin (according to Ben!). Our gin was ready to take home. We were advised to let in rest and infuse for a further 2 weeks.
Well worth the money, makes for a great night out with partners and friends. Would highly recommend.
