点评:I really wanted to enjoy this, but calling our experience “whitewater rafting” felt extremely generous.
The website advertises a 7 mile guided trip with Class I to III rapids. What we experienced felt much more like a guided float or slow kayak tour.
We were instructed by email to arrive 30 minutes early, and we did. After checking in, we were sent to the picnic area where we sat for another 30 minutes with no explanation. I finally went back inside and learned they were holding our group for guests, not in our party, who were running late. Those guests ultimately were so late they were moved from our 1:30 launch to the 3:30 trip anyway.
Once on the river, it was extremely underwhelming. From drop off to pickup, we traveled alongside people leisurely floating in inner tubes and children swimming and playing in the same river.
We actively paddled for maybe 25 minutes TOTAL. The guide did most of the steering and paddling.
And I am genuinely not exaggerating when I say we experienced approximately 45 SECONDS of actual rapids.
Forty five seconds.
We also had to pull over for a mandatory “break” on a tiny rocky area with some sand. We asked if we could skip it and continue and were told no. With so little paddling or whitewater activity already happening, the mandatory stop made the trip feel unnecessarily stretched out.
The price made this even more disappointing. Tubing was around $50 per person while our “whitewater rafting” trip was around $95. Yet we spent essentially the entire route alongside people tubing the same river.
Everyone in our group was underwhelmed.
I understand river conditions change and this is advertised as beginner friendly. But there is a difference between beginner friendly whitewater rafting and a long, mild river float with approximately 45 seconds of rapids.
For a family introducing a young child to rafting, this could honestly be great. For adults expecting an exciting whitewater experience based on the advertising, seriously temper your expectations.
For approximately $95 per person, we left feeling like we'd paid almost twice the tubing price to float down essentially the same river wearing helmets.
