点评:What a wonderful State Park! Sites are level and spacious with full hookups. We were struck by how quiet and serene the campground was. There were modern restrooms and showers and they were excellently maintained. Campground hosts Ron and Deb were super. Deb gave us an excellent history of the CCC Boys who built the camp. The tower in the center of the campground has an excellent exhibit on their history building the park. Each site has a campfire ring AND a charcoal grille coupled with an excellent picnic table and post for hanging a lantern or other items. The park is the location of the home of AH Stephens, the Vice President of the Confederacy from 1861-65. It is open generally on weekends, and is an excellent example of life during that era. If you are looking for a quiet out of the way campground that offers all the amenities and is beautifully maintained, this is the perfect spot!
