点评：I’ve now attended two courses at the Waterside Inn Culinary School — the Steak Course followed by the BBQ Meat Course — and I can honestly say they are the best culinary experiences I’ve ever had!
Yes, the courses are at the premium end of the price range, but they are genuinely worth every penny. I’ve done quite a few cooking courses over the years, and these were worth all of the others combined.
Michael, a Michelin-starred chef in his own right, is an exceptional teacher. He strikes the perfect balance between demonstrations and hands-on cooking, takes the time to answer every question, and creates a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere where you learn an incredible amount.
The food is simply outstanding. You eat exceptionally well throughout the day, with course after course of some of the best food you’ll ever have, alongside beautiful canapés and tastings that make the experience feel truly special. On the steak course you eat every type of steak there is, from the cheap cuts all the way up to Chateaubriand (each more delicious than the last). On the BBQ course the standouts were the lemon peri-peri chicken and then a BBQ beef sirloin skewer (both incredible).
What really sets the Waterside Inn apart, though, is the attention to detail. Every member of staff goes out of their way to ensure you have an unforgettable experience. From seeing the Michelin-starred kitchen in action, to cooking with great equipment, exploring the beautiful kitchen garden, and enjoying the incredible hospitality, every aspect is executed to perfection.
If you’re wondering whether it’s worth the investment, my advice is simple: book it. It’s an unforgettable experience which you learn so much from - I’ll certainly be back in the not too distant future!
