点评:The downside was that it was a lovely sunny (but seriously hot) day, and we arrived over half and hour before it opened. It seemed that everyone else had the same idea, consequently our group was exceedingly large. (And forget any idea of an orderly queue!!) Fortunately the guide had a voice that carried well! We found the explanations really interesting, and we learnt a lot about the geology of the area, the type of slate produced, and why some was unsuitable. The demonstration of the cutting of the slate was also informative, though sadly not so easy to see, due to the size of the group. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit despite the heat (it is also cooler as you descend!) ..Though the climb back up, after the little museum would have been nicer had it been cooler! You need a good command of French to be able to appreciate the presentation fully….Not sure if there is info in English available if not.
Only parts of the Pans de Travassac would be accessible for someone with mobility issues.
