点评：Our stay at Earl Rowe Provincial Park was a mixed experience.
One of the biggest advantages is its convenient location. It’s close to the city and only a short drive from major stores like Canadian Tire and FreshCo, making it easy to pick up supplies if needed. The park offers plenty of recreational opportunities, including a large outdoor pool, a beautiful lake, kayaking, and other outdoor activities, making it a great destination for families and nature lovers.
Unfortunately, several aspects of the park were disappointing. Our campsite was quite far from potable water, which made it inconvenient. The washrooms and bathrooms were not as clean as expected. The toilet paper in the washroom was not replaced, and the washroom remained filthy from Saturday around noon until Sunday at 8:30 a.m., which was unacceptable. The camp store also lacked many basic and emergency camping essentials that campers often rely on.
Another downside was the camping atmosphere. Some neighboring campers were quite loud and didn’t seem mindful of others, especially during the evening. Respecting fellow campers’ peace and quiet is an important part of camping culture. We also found that some campers had left garbage in the fire pit, which was disappointing to see and showed a lack of respect for the park and other visitors.
The outdoor pool itself was large, attractive, and a great feature of the park. However, the showers by the pool only had cold water, making them uncomfortable to use after swimming.
Overall, while the park’s convenient location, beautiful lake, outdoor pool, and recreational activities are definite positives, the cleanliness, maintenance, camp store, and the behavior of some campers made our stay much less enjoyable than we had hoped. With better maintenance and more consideration from fellow campers, Earl Rowe Provincial Park could provide a much better camping experience.
