点评：Here are a few things I learned from my trip to Maihar:
If you come by auto at night, the fare is usually higher than during the day. At night, it may cost around ₹50 or more, while during the day it is usually around ₹10–20.
I stayed in a hotel with a 13-bed dormitory. It cost me around ₹370 per bed, which was one of the more expensive options in Maihar. A private room for one person costs around ₹600–700 for 12 hours. You can also book online through RedBus and get a discount of around ₹50. Family rooms are available too. Online, a room for 8–9 people costs around ₹1000. I'm not sure about the offline price.
If you want to take a bath or keep your luggage safely, you can use the facilities near the first gate. They charge around ₹20 per person for a bath.
The best time for darshan is early in the morning. If you want less crowd, try going around 6:15 AM. I went around 4:40 AM, and there was already a huge crowd. It took me about 1 hour and 40 minutes to reach the temple after the gates opened at 5:00 AM.
There are two gates for darshan. The left-side gate opens at 6:30 AM and is usually faster. The right-side gate, near the drums, is already open but takes more time. Near the ropeway/lift area, there is Amar Jyotirling. Don't miss visiting it.
Alha Udal Akhada Temple is about 2 km from the main temple. You can take a shared auto for around ₹10. I also visited Gola Math Temple. It is a peaceful place and worth visiting. There is also a fort nearby, but you cannot enter unless you are staying there.
I also went to Durlabh Darshan, but it was closed. If you want food, you can have the bhandara near the market. It costs around ₹15. Just ask for the place, take a token first, and then have your meal.
Lastly, I missed visiting Ichchhapurti Temple because of my train. The temple opens at 4:00 PM and closes around 8:35 PM. In the morning, I'm not sure about the opening time, but it closes around 10:00 AM. If you have time, make sure to visit this temple.
