点评:We booked a holiday in Lombok, with pickup arranged from the hotel. Our driver took us to Sukarara village since we had come 2 hours prior to check in time, saying the room wouldn’t be ready. He was really nice, making recommendations and said he will take us to a village to show traditional weaving for free. He took us to a place where the guide immediately asked about Australia. He knew already that we were coming. Quickly showed us some women weaving - talked about how women need to know how to weave before getting married, that they work 8 hours and that it takes them a month to finish one sarong. Before you know it you are taken into the shop where they drape you in some traditional clothes and take photos. Then they show you around and say everything is handmade and that you should buy something to help the village etc. lots of talk about how its distrubuted to the community etc. They dont tell you the price. I ended up taking a flimsy woven hat, a hair tie and 3 keyrings - which are all supposedly handmade (which is not true, and are factory made based on multiple reviews I’ve read). They quoted me 550000 , reduced to 500000 when i said its very expensive - 40 AUD for a few items which wouldve probably cost 10$ elsewhere. As soon as you’ve paid, theyre done with you. They basically pressure you into buying stuff. This has left a very sour taste in my mouth. They see tourists as cash cows and have scammed us before we’ve even gotten to the hotel. Its hard to enjoy yourself when you have to be cautious of everybody. It feels like nobody is genuine. Everything is a tourist trap. Sukarara village is definitely a tourist trap and a scam. Beware!
