点评:Our travel group of 35 people stayed 2 days at the Mole National Park in Larabanga during our cultural expedition of Ghana in June 2026. We arrived in the evening and had dinner at the park restaurant. Overall the meals were pretty good featuring authenic Ghanian cuisine. The accommodations were somewhat rustic but comfortable and clean. You need to take in consideration that you are in a National Park. While the accommodations were somewhat rustic, they were comfortable and clean—it's just important to keep in mind that you are staying inside a national park.
As a helpful tip for future guests: for the rooms located just off the restaurant, you need to let the front desk know when you plan to take a shower so they can adjust the water pressure. Because these rooms sit higher than the water tank, a staff member has to manually adjust the system, but they were very accommodating once notified. Overall, it was a memorable stay!
The incredible wildlife and landscapes are the main reasons to visit Mole National Park. Our trip began with an overview of the park's ecosystem and the animals we might encounter, after which we split into groups and boarded our safari vehicles. We hadn’t even been on the trail for five minutes before we spotted a majestic herd of male elephants, soon followed by warthogs, baboons, and several varieties of birds. We were completely in awe of the elephants; they were incredibly majestic up close, though we always maintained a safe distance.
As we ventured further, we encountered several groups of antelope. Our guides explained that young males without mates band together, which explained the bachelor groupings we saw, though we did eventually spot a herd with a dominant male. Along the way, we also pointed out various interesting trees and plants. The guides did a fantastic job sharing their knowledge and helping us understand everything we saw. Because our first drive was so successful at spotting the major wildlife, we decided to cancel our second safari. This gave our group some much-needed relaxation time by the pool that afternoon.
We highly recommend making Mole National Park a priority if you are planning a trip to Ghana!
