What an incredible day of birding with Lourie Trips & Tours, led by Lourens Muller!
We spent the day exploring the beautiful Bushveld areas around Bandelierkop, Legkraal, Dendron and Kalkbank, and what a day it turned out to be!
We ended the day on an amazing 100 bird species for the day!
Even more special were two fantastic lifers for me — the Swallow-tailed Bee-eater and Short-clawed Lark. Seeing these birds was already a highlight, but getting to experience their behaviour and displays made the sightings even more memorable.
The Swallow-tailed Bee-eater was an absolutely amazing sighting, and Lourens did a fantastic job of putting us in the right places and giving us the opportunity to properly appreciate these incredible birds.
It wasn't just about ticking species off a list — it was about experiencing the Bushveld, learning about the birds and enjoying every moment in the field.
A huge thank you to Lourens Muller and Lourie Trips & Tours for an unforgettable day.
