Impromptu visit to Dumfries Air Museum
Dumfries and Galloway Aviation Museum的点评
点评：I was touring Scotland & as an aviation enthusiast particularly wanted to visit this museum.
On checking the website I found that they normally open on Wed ,Thurs & Sat.We would be there on Sunday so I emailed them without response.
Once in Scotland I rang them on a Thursday but was told that there would not normally be anyone there on a Sunday but come back the next weekend as they had a special open day all weekend.That was no good as by Sunday we were on the way home.
I therefore went to the airfield when we arrived in Dumfries just to see what I could see.
When I got there a couple of people were coming out of the gate & when I explained to them my circumstances they said that there was another person inside doing tree planting so go & see him.
He was brilliant & not only allowed me to take photos but also opened various sheds so that I could see inside & in particular their pride & joy a Czech Spitfire recovered from Loch Doon.
