点评:The first thing that you notice when entering the museum is that the grounds are well maintained.
This is a dog friendly museum. The collection is housed in various buildings throughout the grounds. Although the footprint is small the museum feels much larger. The various aircraft displayed outside are well spaced out and it’s a varied collection.
The airborne forces collection I would say is as good as the Para museum at Duxford.
The collection has a Spitfire from the Battle of Britain. I attended both lectures on the Spitfire and airborne forces are a must, both speakers very knowledgeable.
The other exhibits are well maintained and clean and free from dust. Great to see the NAAFI display and the home front displays.
Various displays in the control tower are of the same high standard. As an ex Air Cadet the Air Cadet display is not to be missed and the Chipmonk aircraft brought back lots of memories from my cadet days.
Excellent cafe on site, all the volunteer staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
很高兴看到NAAFI(英国海军、陆军和空军福利协会)的展区和后方战线展区。
