点评：Located on the Main Street do the little town of Innerleithen, this letterpress printing works is fascinating to visit and take a guided tour. The introduction to the tour described how the National Trust for Scotland acquired the print works in the 1970s and we were shown examples of the items printed since 1866 to 1986 which included newspapers, invitations, business cards, posters and all sorts of other items. Every item printed by the works was recorded in scrap books so a complete history of the business was kept. We then went to the letterpress studio where the work of the letterpress printers was described and we were able to make our own bookmarks using the letters which were originally used by the typesetters, before going to the machinery department to see the Victorian and early 20th century machines in action.
The guides were enthusiastic and engaging and answered all questions thrown at them. The shop contained birthday and event cards printed in the works for sale.
