点评：We had a fantastic time at this sheepdog demonstration—truly worth every penny.
Gert delivered an engaging and informative experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. As visitors from another country, the concept of free-roaming sheep was completely new to us, and Gert did a wonderful job explaining how his farm operates, the structure of his flock, and why sheepdogs are such an essential part of the system.
This is a family-run, organic and sustainable farm, and we were genuinely happy to support it. It’s clear that the family cares deeply about the animals in their care.
Gert introduced us to four of his eleven dogs, walking us through each dog’s unique strengths and personality, and explaining how he uses them in different situations. Watching them in action was incredible—he demonstrated both verbal and whistle commands, and the dogs responded with impressive precision and focus.
To give us a sense of real-world application, Gert walked through a mock sheepdog competition scenario (he competes himself), which was fascinating to watch. He also showed us some live training with a younger dog, which added another layer of insight into the process.
We especially appreciated learning how the dogs are used to bring sheep down from the mountain and to isolate individual animals when medical attention is needed. It was clear how skilled and important these dogs are.
When they weren’t working, the dogs were affectionate and clearly devoted to Gert—then instantly focused when given a command. That balance was amazing to see.
As an added bonus, we visited at just the right time and got to see several day-old lambs, which made the experience even more special.
Overall, an authentic, educational, and memorable experience—we would highly recommend it.
