点评：We recently did an offroad tour, with Telluride Outside, of Black Bear Pass recently. We chose it because it was the most treacherous, “scary”, adventurous offroad tour available.
The trip was amazing. Starting from highway 550, the initial 2/3 were pretty straight forward. The views were stunning. The road was a ragged two-way single track gravel road that was comfortably drivable. Then, the final 1/3 is a one way is narrow switchbacks along a steep cliff until you get to Bridal Veil Falls. The falls in and of itself is an amazing grand finale.
Our guide was Matthew, and was great…… but I think he was too great. He gave us a head’s up to where any issue or concern may be….. and what to expect in the next moment. I was really impressed with Matthew’s knowledge and expertise…. However, maybe that made the descent from the pass much less scary than we thought it was.
Either way, we were glad we did the tour and very glad we went with someone who knew what they were doing.
