点评:I totally agree with that one from a visitor from Aarhus also in Summer 2026.
You have to arrive by boat. Remember you are going out of a fjord and go into the North Atlantic Ocean. It usually is rough, and it provokes to get dizzy.
It has a cost, obviously.
When you arrive to Mykines, you "have to" join to a guided tour for... 500 DKK!!!!!!!! It's a scandalous price just for 2 hours hiking to see puffins and pufflins (the new born puffins).
You can see puffins (further, it's true in another places of the Faroe Islands). Or you can go to Iceland or Ireland to visit them for free.
If you have a health problem and ask for helping, the owner of the coffee was really unfriendly and without empathy. She was only interested to control if you have already booked / paid the guided tour. My impression about how they treat the tourism is really awful.
If you want to earn money, you should receive some lessons how to do It in a good way. I wish her, she will never need help in any place out of Mykines. I am sure, she will be treated much more better, she treated me (she completely ignored me).
The difference to see puffins there than in other places in the world, is that there you can be really closed to the neasting áreas (from May to August).
Remember, exist a helicopter regular service to get Mykines. The only condition is you can't go and back the same day. You can choose to stay there for a night, or go or back on the boat. I recommend this last option.
After the guided tour, you will spend at least 1 hours in the town (roughly 15 houses). There is only one coffee (with instant coffee and some pieces of homemade cakes), and nowhere to shelter you in case of raining (something which happens daily in Faroe Islands).
With the cost of the guided tour, they could at least open the tourist center (the old school) which is only used to do the groups for the visit. After that, that space is quickly closed.
One hour waiting for coming back to Sorvagur by boat is really a too long waiting.
