点评：What a beautiful day on the Atlantic Ocean on our Marine Safari to Dassen Island
We were met by Alan & Zandie at the Harbour for our safety briefing then putting on our life jackets boarding the new state of the art vessel. Allan gave us all the information on our Marine Journey to the island and what we expected to see.
Immediately after leaving the harbour it started and for three hours we were bombarded with marine wildlife in their natural habitat a Pod of Dolphins, Whale, Sun Fish, Seals, Penguins, Terns, Oystercatcher & Cormorant to name but a few.
Alan’s knowledge of the area and the history of Dassen island was very interesting and informative with current pictures of the island compared to 80 years ago when is was covered with a healthy colony of breeding African Penguins who’s colony used to be in the Millions but sadly reduced to a few thousand over the years due to man.
For me the highlight was the returning rookery of Seals probably 100+ Harry the Humpback Whale who decided to make an appearance while we were sat discussing the penguins and the beautiful sunfish on our return to harbour.
The raw beauty of the area was fantastic and we didn’t want the trip to end. For me a 10/10 and a MUST if you are visiting the area.
Huge Thanks to Harry & Zandie we felt welcomed and in good hands from start to finish. We will definitely book again when we are back.
