点评:Wandered in here after a newfound interest in the history of the slate industry.
Wow, I am glad I am not a historical quarryman. What grisly history! As one would expect from a historical quarry hospital.
The views on the walk up the the museum are astoundingly beautiful, and it was particularly cool to be met with constant slate from all angles, all the way up. There was a lake, and around the lake was slate. The lakeshore was slate. The lakebed was slate. So much slate. Great place for someone who likes slate, which is apparently now me.
The museum walks you through the experiences of various historical figures who were treated here, along with the lives of the people who founded and worked at the hospital. I went in April, so it was very quiet, and spent a good hour or so in there. There are several rooms done up as they were when the hospital was in operation, so you can have a wander on through and feel very grateful that you are someone with access to modern medicine, and are not a historical injured quarryman.
The museum staff members were friendly and helpful. All of the information is available in Welsh and English, and the staff members speak Welsh and English.
Well worth a visit. Glad I went here.
