点评:Signed me and my gf up for Free Surf Lesson this past Saturday. We do long distance so I thought it would be a fun experience.
I understand that weather was not good the day before (Friday, March 22) and the forecast for the day of the lesson (Saturday) was not optimal. I thought the lesson would be cancelled but when I woke up, it had stopped raining and it seemed like the lesson could happen, I had not received any communication of cancellation.
A previous email said this: "Sometimes, South Florida weather prevents us from being able to get out there and shred. If you have a concern regarding weather, please feel free to contact us at anytime at ##-###-####. Always be sure to check your voice mail and emails before heading to the beach, in the case of unfit conditions your surf instructor wiIl contact you to reschedule."
And so I called around 6am (lesson starts at 7am and we were told to get there 15min before to sign waivers and whatever) and got no response. We had a 30min drive to get there so we hit the road. Getting there, we were told that the lesson had been cancelled and that they sent an email and did not received any calls, because "he had been at the store since 6:30am". Checked my phone, got an email at 6:43am (2min before we were supposed to be there lol) saying "Lesson Cancelled due to conditions. Please call to rebook.". That's it.
No big deal. We went to the beach to watch the sunrise and as we sat there we saw the "instructors" (or whoever told us that the lesson was cancelled at the store) with their surf boards going in the water to surf and looked like they were having a good time. We chilled there for 2 hours (7-9am is how long the lesson would have taken) looking at a beautiful sunrise, no rain, and watching a bunch of other people surfing together with workers from the store.
Overall I was just disappointed with how we were treated. I wish our time was respected as much as we respected their time and guidelines. I am not here to throw a fit but to share that my experience was not as good as others unfortunately. We were very excited for the experience but ended up just waking up early and driving 30 minutes there and back to watch them surf in front us.
