点评：Before COVID, I went to Colchester Castle Park with my family and we had the loveliest time walking around the park. The kids adored the previous play area, because of the vast amount of different play equipment, all of which was ideal for families with children of varying ages.
For years after this, we kept telling the kids we'd take them back to Colchester, and make a special trip back to the playground, because it was simply the best playground we'd ever come across..
Well, whoever in their infinite wisdom decided to 'update' it, has ruined this completely. I returned to the park last week, and was bitterly disappointed to find the charming and diverse play area is now virtually a replica of the crappy little plastic play areas popping up to replace the old, half decent ones that used to exist in the towns and villages across the UK.
If anyone else is considering visiting this park because they have pleasant memories of the children's playground, then don't bother. Seriously, it's not worth wasting petrol just to find yourself wishing you'd stayed at home.
Spend the extra cash and go to Colchester Zoo instead, at least they have invested in decent play equipment for your kids.
