Mathikithi Wilderness Trail的点评
点评：Absolute 5-star experience. It is one thing to see the Big Five from your car. It is another thing to be in the bush and listen to a low growl and look wonderingly at your guides for explanation. Ronnie and Chester were amazing guides and along with Zacharia as the cook, fantastic hosts at Mathikithi. I believe the camp won best wilderness camp of the year for Kruger and you can see why. They love the place and being in the bush and it is contagious.
It is awesome to be able to walk in the bush - to watch dung beetles roll their balls, stare at giraffes as they stare at you and be absolutely still as elephants silently pass you by. Chester is a top notch but humble birder, identifying calls even when driving by on slick muddy roads. Ronnie shared so much, his connection to the bush is deep.
The camp is comfortable and relaxing. No AC but that is why you nap in the afternoon and go out later for sunset beers. Food was delicious - the spread of the brais on the last night was incredible.
On the last morning we watched a elephant from our beds pass silently by our tent. Wow.
