点评:Originally I came here for the interpretive center about the aqueduct. That part was rather small, interesting but insignificant next to the mint. I was greeted and welcomed by the woman in the office and received an audio guide to help me understand the significance and history of this place. The artifacts were fantastic! Old coins with different styles of production. “Machines” of different styles that were used and descriptions of the evolution of producing money. Also importantly, that this was the King’s mint and how royalty influenced minting of money. Connected was the King’s Garden, another space amongst MANY in Spain, created for the exclusive use of the royals. It was beautiful, peaceful, connected to the mint in a peaceful area away from the town. It was a bit of a hike to get up there walking through some beautiful greenery and some uphill areas to get there along the same road to get to the Alcazar.
I loved my visit, the kind encounter with the staff and the tranquility of this space! Best part of my visit to Spain was my day in Segovia spent mostly here!
