An unforgettable and deeply authentic Atlas Mountains experience

点评：This was so much more than a hike — it was one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had in Morocco.
I joined a one-day hike to a waterfall in the Atlas Mountains, guided by a wonderful local guide from a small mountain village that was seriously affected by the earthquake two years ago. By working as a guide, he supports his family and helps his community rebuild, and you can truly feel how much he cares about his people and his home.
During the hike, he was extremely attentive to my safety, very professional, kind, and fun to be around. Along the way, we drank traditional Moroccan tea in the mountains, met local villagers, shepherds and farmers, helped catch baby goats, and experienced real life in one of the most remote parts of the Atlas. The scenery was stunning.
After the hike, I was invited to his home, where his mother and sister prepared an amazing homemade meal. I got to experience local life and culture in a very genuine way. His sister also made traditional Berber henna on my hands — the best henna experience I’ve ever had in Morocco.
If you’re looking for a real, heartfelt, and authentic experience, I can’t recommend this enough. When I return to Morocco, I will definitely hike with him again — next time for longer!
