$15 Island Entry fee is too too much for people staying on the island

点评：The rating would have been a 5 except for the $15 fee we were charged to enter the Island during the Christmas season.
Everyday, there is a $10 fee to enter the island. This pays for all the island’s operating costs so that the state does not have to pay for it. That’s fine EXCEPT island visitors who stay in the hotels or other paid lodging should have some sort of lesser fee. If we had known that the first night of the Christmas season would have cost us $15, we would have left a day early. I’m going to write as many reviews as possible in online forums warning people about this. I would prefer to receive the lodging and other sales tax benefits from people staying on the island than upping the daily entrance fee to $15. And for people who say, “Duh! Just don’t leave the island”, that limits people from spending additional money on shopping and food in surrounding areas. I just don’t understand the thinking behind this, and it put a damper on what was otherwise a fantastic trip.
