点评：SCAM ARTIST DO NOT RENT HERE: Breach of Contract, Fabricated Damage Claims, & Unprofessional Behavior!
If you are considering renting from Crystal Coast Beachside Grills & Gear, LLC (Dondi Day), save your money and stay away! I would’ve rather hauled all of my own stuff, after just competing chemo (which is why we paid for the setup).
We booked the "Grand Beach Party Bundle" for our vacation in Emerald Isle, NC. What followed was a total breach of contract, hostile communication, and an attempt to withhold our deposit under false pretenses.
Here are the receipts:
1. Breach of Contract & Missing Items: We paid $789 for full setup and gear for the week. We only received our full bundle on Day 1. For Days 2–5, daily setup was abandoned, and basic portable items included in our package (table, trash can, beach games) were never delivered at all. High winds do not excuse failing to drop off basic portable equipment.
The setup on day 1 was truly amazing. The beach mat was truly a game changer. We never saw that mat again. As far as I know, a mat won’t blow away whilst staked into the ground and with other equipment on it. There were thousands of others on the beach with canopies. We never saw a canopy or that mat again. Either a cool cabana or SHIBUMI was deployed and he would often angle the SHIBUMI in the wrong direction so it would blow into our face and block our view of the kids playing in the surf.
2. Gear Stripped While Guests Were Sitting In It: On Day 1, while a guest was physically sitting in one of our rented beach chairs closer to the shoreline, after packing all the rest of the equipment (where if there was any damage- it would’ve been evident) said he was there for the chair and took it away. His own company website explicitly states chairs may remain at the rental location for evening use.
3. Fabricated Damage Accusations: When our vacation ended, all equipment was returned in good condition and the community gate FOB was returned. Zero damage was reported by us or him. 10 days later, I emailed asking for the return of our $157.80 security deposit, he suddenly claimed our canopy was "destroyed beyond repair" on Day 1. If gear was destroyed on Day 1, why was it never mentioned when he interacted with the guest whose chair he took or with guest he was communicating with on the setup/takedown? Not until I asked where the refundable security deposit was did he claim that we destroyed the gear.
2. Gaslighting & Refusal to Communicate: Prior to arrival, he falsely claimed "we discussed this a while ago" regarding property entry, when we had never spoken before. He refused to coordinate with the local property manager to get a gate FOB, and when caught in his post-vacation false damage claims over email, his response was to simply state he was blocking my number and email. I mean I didn’t know where this hostility was coming from! I truly thought he had us confused with another guest??
What kind of business is this? A man that doesn’t want money I reckon. This is clearly his side hustle, according to his LinkedIN he’s doing just fine. If he’s burnt out, I don’t know, maybe consider not hauling beach equipment over dunes in the summer heat?? Just an idea.
Dondi will likely try to reply to this review with whatever excuses he wants/believes, high winds blah blah (everyone near us had canopies) but the written receipts, text logs, and credit card dispute ruling in our favor, speak for themselves. Don’t let the rest of the positive reviews fool you- they were mostly for grills or for beach equipment staying on premises. We paid for setup and takedown each day due to medical/physical limitations.
Save your money and your peace of mind - do not rent a setup bundle from this company.

Dondi很可能会用各种他想要或认为合理的借口来回应这条评价，比如大风之类的（我们附近的人可都搭了遮阳棚呢）。不过书面收据、短信记录以及信用卡纠纷裁决都对我们有利，这些就是最好的证明。别被其他那些好评给骗了——那些评价大多是关于烤架或海滩用品能留在场所内使用的。由于健康或身体方面的限制，我们不得不每天付费请人来安装和拆卸设备。
省下钱吧，也让自己安心些——千万别从这家公司租用安装套餐。
