点评:Really lovely piece of Victorian engineering. They went to so much effort to make even industrial engineering look beautiful as well as work brilliantly! Built in the mid 19th century this pumping station enabled fresh, clean water to be supplied to the Black Country - helping counter the public health threat of cholera and other water borne diseases.
Fully volunteer-led, it's a registered charity and they achieve so much. Now linked to the GreenWay which is a 6.5km walking and cycle way running from Chasewater to Lichfield, it's tucked away in a residential area but has on site parking.
Knowledgeable volunteers were on hand to give us a fascinating tour of this quirky and unusual venue. Great for photo shoots if that's your thing too! They also hold events and hire out spaces for community use.
Open on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 10am until 12pm. Individual and group bookings are welcome and times can be flexible for a group booking.
We loved it. Dont miss it!
