金泽城的点评
点评：Kanazawa Castle was a wonderful surprise. Unlike many castles that focus mainly on displays and artefacts, this visit gave a real appreciation of the incredible craftsmanship and engineering that went into building these structures centuries ago.
The beautifully restored wooden interiors are the highlight. The warm timber floors, massive beams, polished walls and intricate joinery create a feeling of elegance and strength that photographs struggle to capture. Walking through the vast halls, you begin to understand the scale of the castle and the skill of the craftsmen who built it.
I particularly enjoyed the exhibits explaining the construction methods. Seeing the cross-sections of the walls, the layers of plaster, timber frameworks and defensive features provided fascinating insight into how advanced Japanese castle architecture was for its time. It is educational without feeling overly academic.
Outside, the white walls rising above the enormous stone foundations and surrounding moat are equally impressive. The castle grounds are beautifully maintained, offering peaceful walks and excellent views from every angle.
If you are expecting rooms filled with furniture and historical artefacts, you may find it somewhat minimalist. However, if you appreciate architecture, craftsmanship and learning how these remarkable buildings were actually constructed, Kanazawa Castle is one of the most rewarding castle visits in Japan. The attention to detail, the stunning woodwork and the sense of history make it well worth several hours of exploration.
