Verde Canyon Railroad的点评
点评：We took the 4-hour Verde Canyon rain ride. Excellent parking availability. They tell you to get there very early and this is a marketing ploy to spend time buying “stuff” in the Gift Shop and eating and drinking at their cafes.
The entire experience is well-orchestrated, you have assigned seating on a specific train car and line up to board near your car. Our train was about 12 cars long, and they have open viewing cars interspersed between the passenger cars. We were in a car with very comfy couches, they provided a meat/cheese/cracker/brownie lunch and a small bottle of champagne or sparkling cider and water bottles. There is a bathroom on each car.
The attendant in our car, Michael, was friendly, amusing and gave great service to all guests. His patter on the sites was helpful and informative. Unfortunately the train managers have decided to include a music track that plays overhead that is WAY TOO LOUD, and drowned out Michael and the outdoor car attendant, Tristan, on many occasions. They were both wonderfully helpful even though they cannot turn down the music. And who knew there were 4 hours of train songs!!!
Going over the old trestles and through tunnels was fabulous and the scenery is beautiful, especially as you are way down in the canyon for much of the ride. We saw 2 bald eagles soaring in the canyon.
All in all we loved our journey.
