点评:Visited in June 2025. I got there by taking the Metro to Dayanta station (literally Great Wild Goose Pagoda station). Exits C and D were on the side of the road nearer to the Pagoda, but it was still a 15 minutes walk with little shade for comfort.
The pagoda itself is indeed the real deal and open for people to ascend, for an extra fee on top of the original entrance ticket price. I took reference from Wikipedia to understand the history of the pagoda, but it appears that the interior was recently modified and, frankly, looks not too different from an ordinary building. Nevertheless, the structure is still the original one dating back from the 700s, so I still appreciated being inside such a historic building.
The temple complex enclosing the pagoda is newly built, likely specifically for tourists, but was nevertheless nice to walk through. Some of the buildings inherited frescoes from the original buildings. Outside the complex is a tourist attraction filled with Tang-replica structures.
