We had the most incredible 12-day tour of Sri Lanka, organised by Blue Lanka, and we honestly couldn't have wished for a better experience.
Blue Lanka designed our itinerary around our own ideas and guidance, creating a fantastic balance of everything we wanted to experience. We stayed in superb hotels, went on an unforgettable safari, explored beautiful places and had so many opportunities to experience and learn about Sri Lankan culture, history and everyday life. The whole itinerary was exceptionally well thought out and gave us a wonderful taste of this beautiful country.
A huge part of what made the trip so special was our wonderful driver, Fernando. From the very beginning, he was warm, friendly, attentive and incredibly helpful. He was always one step ahead, making sure we had everything we needed and that we were getting the very best from each day.
Fernando also took a real interest in us as people. When he discovered that my partner plays guitar, he actually brought a guitar along for him to play, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture. We had some brilliant moments singing, playing guitar and enjoying karaoke in the car. He even helped us learn some Sri Lankan phrases. There was certainly plenty of laughter during our journeys,
He didn't just drive us from place to place. Fernando looked out for us throughout the entire holiday. Whenever we met local guides, he would make sure they were looking after us properly and that we were getting the best possible experience. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him.
The combination of Blue Lanka's excellent organisation and itinerary and Fernando's exceptional care, humour and attention to detail made this a truly unforgettable holiday.
We came to Sri Lanka wanting to discover the country, its wildlife, scenery and culture, and we left with some wonderful memories and feeling that we'd also made a friend in Fernando.
We cannot recommend Blue Lanka and Fernando highly enough. If you're fortunate enough to have Fernando as your driver, you are in very safe hands. Thank you for making our Sri Lankan adventure so special!
