蓝色兰卡之旅的点评
点评：My Wife and I booked a two week tour with Blue Lanka, following a custom itinerary. The booking process was easy with them and they were very good at tailoring our tour to suit us. The price was also reasonable for what they provide.
We arrived in Sri Lanka on 29th November after cyclone Ditwah, so we were worried about how our tour was affected by flooding. Blue Lanka provided no assurances or communication regarding the floods and changed our tour guide whilst we were flying to the country.
I feel we were very lucky with our guide, Champika, who facilitated our tour incredibly well and adapted to last minute changes in our itinerary. With this said there was no information from Blue Lanka and we found out that some of our activities were cancelled without any notice. After contacting them, Blue Lanka have promised refunds for missed activities and I do believe they will pay this back.
Another disappointing discovery was that Blue Lanka did not pay one of our hotels in advance, and hotel staff were demanding that we pay for a 3 night stay that should have been paid already by Blue Lanka. Again, Champika handled this situation very well (almost as if it wasn’t the first time) and the issue was eventually resolved. I do find it perplexing that Blue Lanka didn't settle the bill with the hotel prior to our arrival, and this caused us immense stress and delay on the day.
With all this said, we incredibly enjoyed our trip to Sri Lanka. The itinerary was well-crafted, with a mix of culture, nature and quirky activities that we appreciated. The hotel selection was very good - and there was a mix of touristy and non touristy places. Clearly they have good experience in making quality itineraries.
Guides perhaps are luck of the draw. I can only comment on Champika but he was excellent in arranging our activities and making sure we made the most of our trip.
